Powell in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Assembler to oversee the assembly of switchgear and breaker units, ensuring quality and on-time production. You will lead a small team, train nearby assemblers, and implement process improvements while adhering to safety standards.

This role requires 4 years in manufacturing, ability to read drawings and tape measures, and proficiency with Oracle/MES. You will optimize workflows, inspect parts, and support ISO-compliant manufacturing in a

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED is preferred.
4 years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to read a tape measure and convert measurements.
Basic English language proficiency (written and verbal).
Knowledge of Oracle, MES or True View for parts and drawings.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Build and assemble mechanical components for Switchgear and/or Breaker units per drawings and customer specs.
Perform in-process inspections and follow standard work to ensure quality.
Lead team members on all aspects of ship prep and assist in training employees.
Perform root cause analysis on engineering changes and correct discrepancies.
Identify shortages and communicate with QA/QC.
Perform final in-process inspections and mechanical adjustments.
Promote safety and maintain clean, organized work areas.
