Job summary

UW-Eau Claire is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to maintain building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and related equipment across campus. The role includes preventive maintenance, repairs, and interaction with campus personnel to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications include EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling, experience with HVAC/R systems, and the ability to work independently or in teams while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 Technician certification (Universal Refrigerant Handling)
• Operate and maintain safety in State of WI fleet vehicle use
• Experience in HVAC trade installing, maintaining, repairing HVAC/R systems
• Work with computerized/digital HVAC systems including DDCs
• Follow safety requirements and procedures
• Work both independently and in a team
• Prioritize and organize work assignments
• Provide customer service to campus users

Responsibilities

• Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems, equipment, and controls per policies
• Develops and schedules operational work plans for staff
• Performs preventive maintenance and documents activity for equipment and systems
• Identifies, troubleshoots, and escalates system problems and repairs
• Responds to service requests per established timelines
