Job summary

Motor Coach Industries (MCI) in Blackwood, NJ, is seeking skilled Mechanics to maintain and repair diesel, electric, and hydrogen-powered engines across our vehicle lineup. You will diagnose, repair, and service complex mechanical and electrical systems, mentoring junior team members and ensuring safe, reliable coach performance.

The role emphasizes advanced diagnostics, high-quality workmanship, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

5-10 years of experience in automotive, diesel, or related fields.
CDL with Air and Passenger endorsements preferred.
HV Safety Certification and HV maintenance/repair training highly desired for hybrid/electric vehicles.
Diagnostic tools such as Vansco and Cummins INSITE used for accurate diagnoses.
Proficiency with fleet data software (Oracle; Fleetio) and general computer literacy.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair a range of engine types including diesel, electric, and hydrogen fuel cells.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mechanics and helpers.
Service electrical and pneumatic systems, including HVAC, alternators, generators, and voltage regulators.
Maintain and repair mechanical components; perform routine lubrication, fluid changes, and tire maintenance.
Repair or replace radiators, water pumps, hoses, wheel bearings, seals, seats, and control systems.
Assist in glass installations and basic body repairs.
