Job summary

Motor Coach Industries (MCI) in Oakland, CA is seeking a Mechanic IV to diagnose, repair, and maintain complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems across a diverse fleet. This on-site role requires hands-on experience with diesel systems, electrical diagnostics, and preventative maintenance; CDL with Air and Passenger endorsements are preferred.

Proficiency with Vansco, Cummins INSITE, and Fleetio is a plus.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience in automotive, diesel, or related fields.
• CDL with Air and Passenger endorsements is preferred but not required.
• Diagnostic tools such as Vansco and Cummins INSITE will be used.
• Fleet & data management software like Oracle and Fleetio are used.
• Proficiency with Outlook and basic computer literacy is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as engine oil/filter changes and chassis lubrication.
• Diagnose and repair engine, electrical, and body systems to restore functionality.
• Service suspension, braking, steering, and related components per procedures.
• Repair or replace radiators, hoses, seals, and seating components as needed.
• Install glass and perform basic body repairs; adhere to safety procedures.
