Job summary

Jekyll Island Authority seeks a Mechanic III to service, diagnose, and repair gasoline and diesel vehicles, trucks, equipment, pumps, generators, and trailers. Responsibilities include welding, bodywork, and painting as needed, with supervision by Fleet Manager.

The role requires extensive maintenance experience, ASE/MACS certifications preferred, CDL Class B or higher encouraged, and strong diagnostic skills. Excellent safety and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of relevant vocational certification and/or degree a plus.
• Minimum of five (5) years equipment or vehicle maintenance and repair required.
• May consider any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs a variety of gasoline and diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Performs DOT inspections, safety checks, and emissions compliance.
• Coordinate or respond to field breakdowns and towing logistics.
• Prioritize and schedule repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs and time spent.
