Job summary

Jewish Family Service LA in Los Angeles seeks a Meal Service Coordinator to ensure participants receive appetizing and safe meals onsite or at home, aligning with HACCP guidelines and program goals.

You will organize senior nutrition sites, manage data entry, coordinate meal assemblies, maintain records, and perform outreach while supporting a diverse community with a commitment to quality service and compliance.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented
• CA Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
• Travel to multiple work sites may be required
• Experience with the elderly or in social service organizations
• Must obtain ServSafe Manager certification within 2 months of employment
• Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment
• Able to lift 30lb with or without assistance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math and record keeping skills
• Experience with data entry and quick learning of email and record/database systems

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate a senior nutrition site which may include data entry responsibilities and serve food according to HACCP guidelines
• Coordinate and assist in the assembly and packing of home delivered meals for delivery and/or grab and go
• Maintain records, attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
• Perform outreach activities to ensure the program meets annual attendance goals
• Maintain food wastage < 3%
• Observe all food safety procedures, including accurately taking and recording food/equipment temperatures
• Enter data on client meal participation weekly to ensure timely reporting to program funding sources
• Monitor/ record donations and make bank deposits as needed
• Maintain updated waiting list for all areas
• Complete client intake assessment forms to evaluate program eligibility and update data base accordingly
• Maintain records; attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Comply with all program guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with other routine office duties as assigned
