Job summary

NM Counties is seeking a dedicated transport driver to deliver home-delivered meals across Santa Fe County and assist the Cook with meal packaging. The role includes transporting seniors to appointments, loading/unloading items, and ensuring the vehicle remains safe and clean.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid NM driver's license, and be prepared to obtain CPR/First Aid and Food Handler certification within the stated timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or Bronze level ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).
• Experience in driving/transportation preferred.
• Must complete Defensive Driving training and become certified in CPR and First Aid within three (3) months of hire.
• Must obtain training in proper procedures for lifting and moving senior citizens and ADA clients within three (3) months of hire.
• Must obtain a Food Handler’s certification card within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Transports home delivered meals to client residences.
• Provides transportation to senior citizens for appointments, activities, and vacations; assists seniors from their homes into vehicles and loads items.
• Maintains vehicle in safe/clean condition per county policies and rules; fuels, washes, performs basic maintenance, and reports issues.
• Assists in cleaning kitchen and dining areas and packaging meals and snacks.
• Performs welfare checks and informs Senior Services staff of concerns.
