Job summary

Santa Fe County is seeking a Driver’s Assistant to transport home delivered meals to seniors and assist the Cook in meal packaging. The role requires safe driving, vehicle upkeep, and compassionate service in Santa Fe County.

You will help seniors into vehicles, deliver meals, assist in kitchen tasks, perform basic welfare checks, and maintain logs and reports. Defensive driving certification and CPR/First Aid within three months are required, as well as a Food Handler’s card within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in driving/transportation preferred.
• Defensive Driving training and CPR/First Aid within 3 months of hire.
• Food Handler certification within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Transports home delivered meals to client residences.
• Provides transportation to seniors for appointments and activities; assists clients into vehicles and loads supplies.
• Maintains vehicle in safe/clean condition; conducts basic maintenance and reports issues.
• Assists Cook in cleaning and packaging meals and snacks.
• Conducts basic welfare checks and informs staff of concerns.
