Santa Fe County NM is seeking a kitchen assistant to plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals for senior meal programs. You will work under supervision to maintain safety, hygiene and portion control while assisting with inventories and equipment.

This role supports community nutrition services and may involve occasional event catering. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and mandatory certifications including food handler, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving within

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bronze NCRC acceptable.
• Defensive Driving training and CPR/First Aid within 3 months.
• Food Handler certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, cook, portion, and serve nutritionally balanced meals.
• Ensure proper temperatures and food safety; sanitize work areas.
• Plan daily menu, record servings, and conduct inventories.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and kitchen resources; unload bulk foods.
• Provide catering and sack lunches for events as scheduled.
