Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Chef to operate the Senior Congregate Meal Program on-site. You will plan nutritious menus, manage budgeting, supervise a kitchen team and volunteers, and coordinate with Kashrut standards to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include leveraging the JCCs platform for ordering, maintaining high health and safety standards, and collaborating with local health officials to pass inspections.

Qualifications

• Current Serve Safe Certification is required.
• Experience with large-scale food service operations and inventory management.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
• Supervisory experience and nutrition education background.
• Knowledge of kosher guidelines and Kashrut standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute nutritious menus for senior meal program per regulations.
• Order ingredients using the JCCs platform and preferred vendors.
• Manage budget for ingredients, supplies, staffing and equipment.
• Recruit, train and schedule sous chefs and kitchen volunteers.
• Ensure health department standards, cleanliness and safety.
• Collaborate with health officials to maintain compliance and Kashrut standards.
