Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Lead MBSE Systems Engineer (Space Systems) to guide model-based systems engineering across complex space programs. The role emphasizes architecture, requirements decomposition, and rigorous verification in multi-disciplinary teams.

The position is based in Wilmington, MA, following a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, and offers relocation support and a path to security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, or related discipline with 9+ years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 7+ years; in lieu of a degree, 13 years of comparable experience.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with MBSE tools (MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect).
• Experience in systems engineering for aerospace products or systems.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance.
• Preferred: CSEP or equivalent systems engineering certification.
• Preferred: SysML experience.
• Preferred: aerospace/defense sector experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly for space systems.

Responsibilities

• Support concept of operations development and requirements analysis with decomposition and allocation across multiple system levels.
• Develop and apply MBSE methods and frameworks to support engineering programs, focusing on space systems.
• Perform systems modeling and simulation to evaluate performance and verify requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align MBSE practices and ensure smooth integration across space system projects.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance in applying MBSE across the organization.
• Train and mentor engineering staff on MBSE tools and best practices.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver critical space-based remote sensing solutions for customers.
