Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Systems Architect – Modular Weapons GRA to lead MBSE efforts, define modular interfaces, and drive model-based data packaging for government-owned solutions.

You will align system architecture with acquisition goals, tradeoffs, and program schedules. You will communicate complex engineering concepts to senior leaders and government engineers, oversee architecture reviews, and ensure data packages support competition, reuse, and rapid production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field required.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering/architecture.
• Expert proficiency with SysML to develop and manage system architectures and model-based baselines.
• Experience applying MBSE and model-based data packages to defense/aerospace domains.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to senior leadership and technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal systems engineer and architect for evolving Weapons GRA and WOSA into an implementable framework.
• Translate technical approaches and risks into clear, decision-relevant terms for leaders.
• Lead MBSE efforts to define physical parameters, interfaces, and data packages.
• Augment and refine Weapons GRA to enable reuse across programs, reducing non-recurring costs.
• Extend WOSA domains to include modularity parameters and form-factor considerations.
• Define structure and content of model-based severable data packages for competition.
• Develop architecture viewpoints, models, interfaces, and reusable libraries for suppliers.
• Maintain traceability from mission needs to production considerations using SysML/MBSE.
• Coordinate with Government and industry partners; lead architecture and design reviews.
• Deliver incremental architecture releases showing improvements in clarity, modularity, and competition.
