Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Materials Scientist to drive the development of advanced materials for 3D printing. You will conduct research from lab exploration through validation and commercialization, ensuring new materials print reliably on Formlabs hardware.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams, design rigorous experiments, and leverage data to optimize material performance. A strong background in polymer science and a PhD or master's is welcome.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of materials science and polymer development.
• Experience developing materials for 3D printing, especially for SLA/DLP or SLS printers.
• Ability to design and conduct rigorous experiments and interpret results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop world-class materials for 3D printing from lab explorations to commercialization.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure materials print on our hardware seamlessly.
• Design and perform experiments, using results to inform material performance improvements.
• Partner with product management, hardware, and software engineers to improve materials continuously.
