Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Materials Scientist to drive the development of advanced materials for our 3D printing platforms. You will conduct research from initial explorations through validation and commercialization, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless print quality and performance.

You will design rigorous experiments, analyze data, and iterate on material formulations to unlock new applications across engineering, consumer, automotive, and healthcare sectors.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of materials science and polymer development.
• Experience designing and conducting rigorous experiments to optimize materials.
• Experience developing materials for 3D printing, especially SLA/DLP or SLS.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop world-class materials for 3D printing from lab explorations to validation and commercialization.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure materials print reliably on Formlabs hardware.
• Design and perform experiments; use results to inform materials performance improvements.
