Job summary

Formlabs is hiring a materials scientist to lead development of SLS materials from discovery through commercialization. You will collaborate with product, hardware, and software teams to optimize material performance based on customer feedback and test hundreds of iterations to refine formulations.

You should have strong fundamentals in materials science, polymer development, and thermo-plastic engineering, with proven experience bringing a material to market.

Qualifications

• Experience bringing a new material to market from ideation to production.
• Solid understanding of materials science and polymer product development.
• Hands-on thermo-plastic engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Build world-class SLS materials for 3D printing from lab explorations to validation and commercialization.
• Lead research pushing SLS material performance and translate discoveries into next-gen solutions.
• Partner with product, hardware, and software teams to iterate material performance based on customer feedback.
• Develop methodologies to evaluate material formulations with SLS print systems balancing chemistry, dynamics, and printing parameters.
