Job summary

RTX is seeking a M&PE Program Lead in Tucson, AZ, onsite. The role oversees materials design, development, and manufacturing support for missile hardware, coordinating resources to meet milestones and budgets.

You will drive materials trade studies, validate material selections, and lead cross-functional reviews while mentoring junior engineers and interfacing with multiple RTX organizations. The position requires a transferable security clearance and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience.
• Experience in materials problem solving (i.e. process improvements or choosing alternate material or protective coatings to address specific material issues)
• Experience with mechanical test methods (i.e. tensile, compression, lap shear, hardness) and/or chemical analysis methods (FT-IR, DMA, GC, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Provide M&PE support for Program’s review board meetings (CCB, MRB, PCB, ERB, PMCB)
• Ensure peer reviews are conducted and M&PE position aligned with deliverables
• Manage workload to support schedule needs
• Lead the Program Team in material trade studies and testing benchmarks
• Ensure labor costs and completion schedules meet commitments
• Resolve technical and operational problems
• Mentor and/or train early career engineers
• Participate on Failure Investigation Teams and proposal efforts
• Present technical positions to large audiences (MMSTN, TIG, ERB)
