Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering or closely related field.
• 2-5 years practical experience in materials testing, R&D, or manufacturing support.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Material Selection & Evaluation: Review plans to recommend materials based on weight, strength, cost and environment.
• Testing & Characterization: Plan and oversee lab tests (tensile, thermal, corrosion, microstructure).
• Failure Analysis: Lead root-cause investigations for material failures and defects.
• Process Optimization: Refine production methods to reduce scrap and improve throughput.
• Documentation & Standards: Maintain material specifications, test protocols, and reports.
