Job summary

Albers Aerospace seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and rapid integration of mechanical systems for advanced aerospace propulsion applications. You will move quickly from concept to prototype to fieldable systems while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires hands‑on lab work, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/NX), and a track record in defense-oriented environments, including security clearance considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in aerospace/defense.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/hold a security clearance.
• Proficient CAD experience with SolidWorks or NX.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of complex assemblies, enclosures, thermal solutions, and structures.
• Develop designs from concept through prototype, test, and fieldable versions.
• Perform trade studies on weight, strength, thermal performance, manufacturability and cost.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical data packages.
• Drive rapid build–test–iterate cycles with emphasis on speed and performance.
• Support hands‑on hardware integration and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Conduct structural, thermal, and vibration analyses (FEA/hand calcs).
• Support DFM/DFA and LRIP readiness and production planning.
• Contribute to program milestones and IPT technical leadership.
