Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in aerospace/defense.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/hold a security clearance.
• Strong CAD and rapid prototyping experience.
• Hands-on lab/integration capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of complex assemblies, including enclosures and mounting structures.
• Develop designs from concept through prototype and testing.
• Perform trade studies for weight, strength, thermal performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical data packages (TDPs).
• Drive rapid build‑test‑iterate cycles with speed and performance.
• Support hands‑on integration of hardware.
• Work with electrical, systems, and software engineers for seamless integration.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and system-level issues during lab and field testing.
• Conduct structural, thermal, and vibration analyses (FEA/hand calculations).
• Support environmental qualification per MIL‑STD‑810.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical performance and durability.
• Interface with fabrication resources (shops, add. manufacturing, vendors).
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and LRIP-ready; support DFM/DFA.
• Support program milestones including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRRs.
• Provide technical leadership within IPTs; estimate effort and risks.
