HX5, LLC is seeking a Senior Acquisition Program Materials Engineer to support the U.S. DoD at Eglin AFB in Niceville, Florida, focusing on materials for warheads, including design, qualification, testing, and supplier engagement.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering credentials and the ability to travel to sites as needed. Candidates should have extensive defense-industry experience, proficiency with MIL-STD-810G/2105C, and a track record in materials development, structural analysis,

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Multiple pathways: BS with 20+ yrs, MS with 15+ yrs or PhD with 5+ yrs.
• Security clearance eligibility and U.S. citizenship expected.
• Experience with MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-2105C preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, development, qualification and testing of warheads including mechanical design, manufacturing, energetic fills, and aircraft integration.
• Test plan design, review, and oversight.
• Material review and qualification testing.
• Support penetration modeling, fragmentation and penetration analysis, fatigue and stress analysis, and IM work per MIL-STD standards.
• Provide materials engineering support, advising on material composition and processing.
• Perform testing and evaluation of materials, corrosion control, failure analysis, and update inspection techniques and standards.
• Travel to supplier and test sites.
