ADM is seeking a Research Scientist III in Decatur, IL to accelerate ingredient innovation using material science and advanced characterization. You will drive projects from concept to implementation within R&D, Operations, and Commercial teams.

The role requires a PhD in a related field (or MS with 5+ years) and hands-on experience with microscopy, spectroscopy, and DOE methods. Exempt, full-time, onsite at ADM Research & Development.

Qualifications

• Advanced materials characterization techniques applied to structure-function relationships.
• Experience with image analysis, data analytics, and multivariate statistics.
• Experience in food ingredients or complex material systems is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design, execute and interpret experiments using advanced characterization.
• Apply microscopy and spectroscopy to understand ingredient behavior.
• Develop validated analytical methods and SOPs.
• Lead projects independently within cross-functional teams.
• Communicate results through reports and stakeholder updates.
• Maintain laboratory records and uphold safety standards.
