Job summary

ADM is seeking a Group Manager, Food Ingredients at the Corporate Research Center in Decatur, IL. You will lead a scientists' team focused on sweeteners, starches, milling, and baking applications, guiding research, development, and technical service for customer solutions.

In this role you will mentor talent, plan resources, ensure safety and compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate science into commercial ADM technologies.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in food science, cereal science, chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, grain science, agricultural engineering, or related discipline with at least 5 years of managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of scientists for research, product development, applications, analytical testing, and technical service.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to align technical work with business priorities.
• Prioritize resources across multiple projects, customer requests, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop long-term capability plans, staffing, equipment, and pilot-scale support.
• Ensure laboratories and pilot-scale assets are maintained and compliant with safety standards.
• Oversee activities supporting product/process development, testing, troubleshooting, and technology transfer.
• Interface with management, commercial teams, operations, quality, and customers to drive ADM technologies toward success.
• Ensure adherence to safety, food safety, and documentation requirements.
• Participate in safety reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
