Job summary

Austal USA, LLC in Mobile, AL is seeking a Material Program Manager to lead a small team of Coordinators and drive material readiness, cost control, and compliance for USN/USCG vessel programs.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Program Management, applies EVMS, manages EACs, and reports to the Sr. Manager of Material Program Management. Requires 8 years blended experience and a Bachelor's degree; CPSM preferred.

Qualifications

• 8 years blended experience in financial analysis, supply chain and government contracts.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
• CPSM certification preferred.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Background in Program Management and EVMS.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Coordinators to ensure material readiness and budget adherence.
• Coach and mentor team members to ensure strategy, execution, issue resolution and results for Material Program success.
• Own assigned EACs and identify risks/opportunities with a monitored action list.
• Monitor, measure and report material readiness and cost in a standardized format.
• Engage with Purchasing Expediting, Engineering and Finance to support material needs.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering and Strategic Sourcing to meet schedules.
• Solve issues with the Program Management Team and set up early triggers.
• Monitor material orders to ensure receipt of SDRLs and materials for production.
