Job summary

Austal USA in Mobile, AL is seeking a capable Program Engineer support professional to operate in a shipyard setting. You will represent the Program Engineer in meetings with Purchasing and Production, track metrics in MPE/RFM/IFS, and ensure BOM accuracy and timely requisitions to support schedules.

The role requires a solid understanding of ERP systems, ShipConstructor/AutoCAD, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in developing/reviewing engineering BOMs and ERP integration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; capable of coordinating across teams.
  • Proficiency with Excel and ERP tools; ability to access MS Office suite confidently.
  • Familiarity with ShipConstructor/AutoCAD and related engineering documents.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Program Engineer in daily/weekly meetings with Purchasing/Production.
  • Track metrics in MPE/RFM/IFS; report weekly to Program Engineers.
  • Ensure MBOMs stay up-to-date in MPE; run weekly MBOM checks.
  • Scrub shortage reports/WPV/Requisitions for consistency with engineering.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to resolve material issues and improve processes.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Bachelors' degree in related field
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to establish priorities, work independently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of ERP systems (IFS)
ShipConstructor/AutoCAD experience
