Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Materials Planner to drive material planning activities for production schedules in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will optimize inventory, oversee procurement, and collaborate with engineering and procurement to ensure timely material availability.

Leverage ERP/MRP, Excel, and SQL to analyze data and report on inventory performance. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in material planning, aerospace/automotive exposure, and a track record of process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, or Master's degree plus 3 years of experience
• Typically 5+ years of related experience
• Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing and implementing demand scheduling tools
• Highly skilled with ERP, MRP, Excel, and SQL
• Material Planning experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Aerospace or Automotive
• Ability to identify and implement new processes and system enhancements
• Familiarity with engineering, procurement, and production workflows
• Familiarity with end-to-end IT architecture supporting engineering, procurement, and production processes

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and timely procurement of materials to support production schedules
• Optimize inventory levels and minimize costs
• Perform material planning for challenging programs
• Train junior team members
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and engineering to align material planning with production schedules and project requirements
• Use ERP, MRP, Excel, and SQL to manage and analyze material requirements, inventory levels, and procurement activities
• Identify and lead systems and process enhancement projects
• Monitor and analyze material usage, lead times, and supplier performance
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely material delivery
• Resolve quality, delivery, and pricing issues
• Prepare and present material planning and inventory performance reports to management
