Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Senior Material Planner to lead complex material planning efforts and optimize procurement to support ambitious production schedules. You will work across production, procurement, and engineering to automate and streamline data flows, using ERP, MRP, Excel and SQL to manage material requirements and supplier performance.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior planners, improving systems, and reducing costs while maintaining schedule integrity in aerospace manufacturing

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Typically 8+ years of related experience.
Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing and implementing demand scheduling tools.
Highly skilled with ERP, MRP, Excel, SQL.
Material Planning experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Aerospace or Automotive.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with production, procurement, and engineering to align material planning with production schedules and project requirements.
Identify and lead projects to enhance systems and processes, utilizing ERP, MRP, Excel, and SQL.
Monitor and analyze material usage, lead times, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
Prepare and present reports on material planning and inventory performance to management.
Mentor junior material planners and other team members.
