Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Senior Material Planner to lead material planning for our most demanding programs. You will ensure timely procurement, optimize inventories, and collaborate across production, procurement, and engineering to align with schedules and project requirements.

You will analyze material usage, lead times, and supplier performance, mentor teammates, and drive cost reduction while enhancing ERP/MRP-driven processes and data flows.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 yrs experience.
• Typically 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing and implementing demand scheduling tools.
• Highly skilled with ERP, MRP, Excel, SQL.
• Material Planning experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Aerospace or Automotive.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and timely procurement of materials to support production schedules.
• Optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.
• Mentor junior material planners and other team members.
• Lead projects to enhance systems and processes for material planning.
• Monitor and analyze material usage, lead times, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
