Job summary

Sierra Space, headquartered in Colorado, is seeking an entry-level Material Planner I to ensure material availability for production. You will work with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics to coordinate material planning and scheduling, using ERP/MRP systems.

The role emphasizes data analysis, reporting, and collaboration to meet production schedules. Minimum qualifications include a related bachelor’s degree and 0–2 years’ experience with Excel and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Typically 0–2 years of experience in a purchasing or materials planning role.
Exposure to Purchasing Best Practices & Lean Manufacturing principles.
Proficiency in Excel & ERP/MRP systems for data analysis, reporting, and decision support.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Plan and schedule the procurement of materials to meet production requirements using ERP/MRP systems.
Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, engineering and logistics to coordinate activities.
Analyze demand scheduling data to forecast material requirements and ensure timely delivery.
Prepare and present reports on material planning and inventory performance to management.
