Job summary

Rocket Lab’s Space Structures Complex in Middle River, MD seeks a Master Facilities Technician responsible for building out and maintaining our facility. You’ll lead expansion and renovation projects, maintain HVAC systems, and manage day-to-day operations to keep production on schedule.

You’ll bring 10+ years in HVAC maintenance, a Master HVACR license, and experience in regulated manufacturing. Base pay ranges from $36 to $50 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HVAC maintenance experience and a High School Diploma or GED.
• Journeyman or Master HVACR license.
• Facility maintenance experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead facility build-out and improvement projects: Oversee and execute facility expansion, renovation, and construction projects, including planning, procurement, installation, and commissioning/decommissioning of equipment and systems.
• Critical HVAC operations: Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and upgrade all HVAC systems (package units, split units, exhaust fans, etc.).
• Preventative and corrective maintenance: Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules for all building systems.
• General facility operations: Manage day-to-day facility operations, including repairs and upgrades.
• Plumbing and utility support: Assist with plumbing maintenance, new installations, and repairs.
• Safety and compliance: Ensure maintenance and construction work adheres to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Project and ticket management: Oversee the facilities ticketing system (JIRA) and track work orders to completion.
• BMS/BAS implementation: Support rollout and ongoing management of Building Management Systems.
• Site oversight: Maintain site safety, security, and cleanliness across the complex.
• Emergency response: Respond to facility emergencies, including after-hours or weekend calls.
• Other duties as assigned, including occasional travel.
