Korpack is seeking a Master Data Specialist to own the gate for items, BOMs, routings, and master records in Acumatica. You’ll ensure correctness, audit data, and drive downstream data integrity across manufacturing processes.

You’ll partner with BI and IS to support automation and AI-enhanced validation, clean up legacy data, and set replenishment parameters based on real demand. This role combines data governance with hands-on system mastery in a fast-growing packaging environment.

ABOUT THE JOB

This is not a data entry job. At Korpack, every automation we run — MRP and replenishment signals, real-time customer inventory feeds, label generation, costing, catch-weight conversions — executes off master data. When a lead time or reorder point is wrong, the system doesn't warn you; it quietly fails to buy, and a production line shuts down waiting on product that was never ordered. We are a food-grade (SQF) co-packer AND a packaging distributor doubling into 350,000 sq ft — so bad data doesn't just stop our lines; it sends a customer the wrong product, or the right product late. We are building a company that runs on technology. That only works if the data underneath is correct — not just filled in. Correct.

We're hiring an experienced Master Data Specialist to be the gatekeeper: the single person with authority to create items and records in Acumatica, and the person who understands WHY each field matters — which automation reads it, which report totals it, which customer promise depends on it. THE JOURNEY

Own the Gate

• Sole authority for item and record creation — items, BOMs, routings, customers, vendors, units of measure. Nothing enters the system except through you, and nothing enters incomplete.
• Structured intake from our Commercialization team: complete specifications in, correct records out — and the spine to send back what isn't complete.

Own Correctness, Not Just Completeness

• Every field has a downstream consumer: UoM conversions drive catch-weight costing; item attributes drive labels and lot tracking; BOM accuracy drives margins and MRP. You know the difference between a filled field and a right one — and you can explain it to the person who filled it.

Own the Replenishment Signals

• The MRP and replenishment settings — lead times, safety stock, reorder points, min/max, vendor parameters — are yours. These are the fields that decide whether product is on the floor when a line or a customer needs it, and a wrong lead time doesn't look wrong until the line stops.
• Set them from real demand and real vendor performance — not defaults, not copies of the last item — and review them as the business changes, because settings that were right last year quietly become this year's stockout.

Fix the Foundation

• We'll be honest: we have data problems today — records created casually over years of fast growth, and automations that stumble on them weekly. Your first year includes a systematic cleanup: audit, prioritize by downstream damage, correct, and lock the gate behind you.

Feed the Automations

• Partner with our Business Analyst and Director of IS on the data model behind our BI, our customer feeds, and every automation we build next. We use AI daily at Korpack and expect you to — the specialist who automates their own validation checks is the specialist we want.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Lines never stop for product the system should have reordered — and distribution customers get the right product, on time, every time
• Automations stop breaking on data — the weekly 'bad record' fire drill becomes a memory
• New items go live launch-ready: labels print right, costs roll right, feeds flow right, the first time
• A record audit anyone can trust: who created what, when, from which approved intake
• The company stops asking 'is the data right?' and starts asking only 'what does the data say?'

THE REQUIREMENTS

Required

• 2+ years owning master data in a manufacturing ERP environment — items, BOMs, routings, UoM structures, replenishment parameters (Acumatica a plus; we run it)
• Demonstrated understanding of downstream data dependency — you can walk us through a specific time bad master data broke something real, what it cost, and how you fixed the system, not just the record
• MRP and replenishment parameter fluency — lead times, safety stock, reorder points, min/max — and the judgment to set them from real demand and vendor performance, not system defaults
• The gatekeeper temperament: process-driven, detail-obsessed, and comfortable saying 'not yet' to people in a hurry
• Fluency with data tools (Excel at a power level; SQL a plus) and comfort with AI tools and automation

Preferred

• Food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing; catch-weight or weight-to-quantity conversion experience; data governance or MDM program exposure

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bloomingdale, IL.
