Role Description
This full-time, on-site Marketing Specialist role is based in Edina, MN. The Marketing Specialist will support the promotion of ReconRobotics’ tactical micro-robot systems by executing marketing campaigns, assisting in the development of marketing materials, and coordinating digital and traditional marketing activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting market research, analyzing customer and competitor data, supporting sales initiatives, and helping plan events, trade shows, and demonstrations. The role also requires a versatile marketer capable of balancing strategic planning with hands‑on execution. The Marketing Specialist must be able to translate technical product information into professional, audience‑appropriate messaging, maintain strong attention to detail, and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment across all marketing activities.
Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns supporting company, product, and sales objectives.
- Create compelling content for websites, email campaigns, social media, brochures, presentations, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, audience-focused messaging.
- Maintain consistent brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across marketing channels.
- Coordinate internal communications and marketing initiatives across departments.
Digital Marketing
- Manage and update website content, landing pages, and other digital assets.
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns and customer communications.
- Manage organic social media content and maintain an effective content calendar.
- Monitor website, email, and social media performance and provide recommendations based on results.
- Support digital advertising and lead-generation initiatives as needed.
Content & Creative
- Work with internal subject‑matter experts, product teams, sales personnel, and outside partners to develop marketing content.
- Produce case studies, product stories, customer‑focused content, and sales collateral.
- Coordinate photography, video, graphic design, and other creative projects.
- Help develop product launch materials and integrated campaign assets.
Events & Trade Shows
- Support planning and execution of industry conferences, trade shows, demonstrations, and customer events.
- Coordinate marketing materials, booth assets, promotional items, presentations, and event logistics.
- Help maximize pre‑event promotion and post‑event lead follow‑up.
- Represent the company professionally at selected events when needed.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to develop effective sales tools and campaigns.
- Support product launches, product updates, and go‑to‑market initiatives.
- Help identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive developments.
- Maintain and organize marketing assets to ensure sales teams have current, accurate materials.
- Partner with sales to ensure leads are captured, routed, and tracked accurately in the CRM.
- Use CRM data to identify target accounts, build segmented lists, and support account‑based campaigns.
Analytics & Administration
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards in Salesforce to track campaign performance, lead flow, and pipeline contribution.
- Pull, segment, and analyze CRM data to support campaign targeting, list building, and audience segmentation.
- Track marketing‑sourced leads through the funnel and report on conversion at each stage.
- Maintain CRM data quality, including lead sources, campaign attribution, contact records, and list hygiene.
- Prepare regular marketing reports and recommendations for leadership and sales, translating data into clear, actionable insight.
- Manage projects, timelines, budgets, and external marketing vendors as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of marketing experience, preferably in B2B, technology, manufacturing, defense, public safety, or another technical industry.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM, including building reports and dashboards, creating list views, and exporting and segmenting data for campaign use.
- Demonstrated ability to pull data independently from a CRM and translate it into clear reporting and recommendations for non‑technical audiences.
- Working proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and cleaning exported data sets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create clear, professional, and engaging marketing content.
- Experience with digital marketing, email marketing, social media, and website content management.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and common marketing tools.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar design tools is a plus.
- Experience supporting trade shows, conferences, or industry events is a plus.
- Candidates with experience marketing technical products or serving professional audiences in defense, military, law enforcement, public safety, emergency response, security, or government markets are especially encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of government procurement, channel/partner marketing, or public‑sector sales environments is also beneficial.

Security Clearances
- There is no security clearance required at this time, but applicant must be capable of working in the United States and obtaining a security clearance if required.

Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk and hear and stand for four hours at a time. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Fast‑paced work environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will experience in/out of the office noise at a minimal level. Must be capable of transporting self to various business locations. If you use your own motor vehicle, you must have a current, valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance coverage that at least meets current residence’s state minimum requirements. Travel may be required.
