Role Description The Inside Sales Representative (Military Experience Required) is a full-time, on-site position based in Edina, MN. This role focuses on managing inbound and outbound sales activities, including qualifying leads, conducting product demonstrations via phone and video, and preparing quotes that align with customer needs and budgets. The Inside Sales Representative will maintain and grow assigned accounts, respond to customer inquiries, and coordinate closely with field sales, marketing, and operations to ensure timely follow-up and order fulfillment. Daily responsibilities include building strong relationships with military and law enforcement customers, tracking sales pipelines in CRM tools, and providing feedback on market trends and customer requirements. The role also involves supporting trade shows or training events as needed and contributing to continuous improvement of sales processes and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to inbound sales inquiries by phone, email, and other communication channels.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate RECONROBOTICS products and solutions.
- Qualify inbound leads and identify new sales opportunities.
- Conduct outbound follow-up with prospective customers, leads, and existing accounts.
- Prepare and provide accurate quotations, proposals, product information, and order documentation.
- Follow up consistently on quotes, opportunities, demonstrations, and pending orders.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales information in the company's CRM system.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat business and identify additional sales opportunities.
- Coordinate with outside sales representatives on larger opportunities and strategic accounts.
- Assist with product demonstrations, customer presentations, and sales-related activities as needed.
- Maintain a strong understanding of RECONROBOTICS products, applications, capabilities, and competitive advantages.
- Meet or exceed established sales, activity, response-time, and customer-service goals.
- Track opportunities through the sales pipeline and provide regular updates to management.
- Participate in sales meetings, training, trade shows, and other company events as required.
- Stay informed about industry trends, and competitors.
Customer Service
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers with questions regarding products, orders, pricing, availability, and delivery.
- Provide timely, professional, and knowledgeable responses to customer inquiries.
- Assist customers with product selection and help determine the appropriate solution for their specific application.
- Process customer orders accurately and coordinate with internal departments to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly and on time.
- Communicate order status, shipping information, lead times, and other relevant updates to customers.
- Address customer concerns and work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Handle returns, replacements, warranty inquiries, and other post-sale customer needs in accordance with company policies (RMA processing).
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, requests, and resolutions.
- Proactively follow up with customers after sales or service interactions to ensure satisfaction.
- Escalate complex technical, product, or service issues to the appropriate internal team while maintaining ownership of the customer experience.
- Build long-term customer relationships by demonstrating reliability, responsiveness, and professionalism.
Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering/Product, Shipping, and other departments to meet customer needs.
- Communicate customer feedback and market information to the appropriate internal teams.
- Help identify recurring customer questions or issues and recommend improvements to processes, documentation, or customer support.
- Assist with sales forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management.
- Support special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires prior military experience or equivalent operational experience due to the nature of our customer base and the specialized knowledge needed to support defense‑related accounts.”
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, account management, or a related customer-facing role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive customer relationships.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customer requests and sales opportunities simultaneously.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and following up with prospective customers.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM).
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
- Experience in technology, robotics, defense, security, public safety, industrial, or other technical product environment.
- Experience selling to government, law enforcement, military, public safety, or commercial organizations.
- Experience working with distributors, dealers, or channel partners.
- Experience with technical or solution-based sales.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, quoting, or order-management systems.
