Job summary

Avalara is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst within the Global Analytics and Insights organization. This role is hands-on and focuses on Marketing, linking activity to pipeline, revenue, and retention while enabling quick pivots to other areas and delivering AI-driven insights.

You will collaborate across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product and Operations to build dashboards, model datasets, and monitor key metrics, ensuring data quality and scalable reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence or analytics.

Responsibilities

• Connect top-of-funnel activities to downstream outcomes, including pipeline creation, bookings, and ARR across customers.
• Partner across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product, and Operations to build a shared, defensible view of results.
• Build modeled datasets, dashboards, and monitoring frameworks for important performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot data quality issues and ensure new processes and changes are reflected correctly in the data.
• Analyze performance and trends, surfacing shifts, quantifying ROI, and recommending spend and conversion improvements.
• Flex across subject areas as priorities shift and communicate findings to leadership.
• Use AI tools (e.g., Glean, Claude) to speed up reporting.
