Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer – Test and Evaluation to work at a customer site in San Diego, CA. This senior role interfaces with engineers, fleet personnel, and government leadership to translate operational needs into feasible technical solutions.

The position requires substantial travel, including overseas activities several times per year, and may involve periods of intensive support during fleet events. TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, naval architecture, mechanical, ocean, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering or maritime operations.
• Experience supporting complex maritime or defense systems.
• Experience addressing operational requirements with engineers, operators, and government stakeholders.
• Experience developing or executing test and evaluation plans and related documentation.
• Ability to travel extensively, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Support test and evaluation activities for maritime systems and fleet operations.
• Serve as technical representative at customer site in San Diego, coordinating with engineers and fleet personnel.
• Translate operational needs into engineering, testing, and demonstration activities.
• Prepare test plans, procedures, and data-collection plans and reports.
• Communicate findings through briefings and written products to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and define actions.
