Job summary

Leidos LLC in San Diego, CA is seeking a Naval Systems Engineer to work on Naval systems at a customer site. The role involves translating operational needs into technically feasible solutions, supporting fleet activities, and serving as a senior interface among engineers, fleet personnel, and government customers.

The position requires extensive travel, including overseas assignments, and the ability to brief senior military and government leadership on test results, risks, and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems/naval engineering, T&E, maritime ops or fleet support.
• Experience supporting complex maritime or defense systems.
• Experience communicating with engineers, operators, fleet personnel, and government customers.
• Experience developing/executing test and evaluation plans and related docs.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Support test and evaluation activities for maritime systems, fleet operations, and exercises.
• Serve as the technical representative at the customer site in San Diego, coordinating with teams and stakeholders.
• Translate operational needs into engineering, testing, integration, and demonstration activities.
• Develop, review, and execute test plans, procedures, criteria, and data collection.
• Analyze results and identify improvements, risks, and deficiencies.
• Prepare technical briefings and presentations for senior leadership.
• Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, PM, and government stakeholders.
