Job summary

Armada Inc. in VA Portsmouth seeks a Senior Estimator to gather and analyze financial data to estimate and allocate costs for current or proposed maritime projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing blueprints and specifications, considering raw materials, labor, equipment, and transport; forecasting costs and resources; and delivering reports with actionable cost reductions. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years estimating in the maritime industry are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience estimating in Maritime industry.

Responsibilities

• Gathers details and compiles data to estimate all production costs according to specifications.
• Reviews blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to formulate cost estimates.
• Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation for estimates.
• Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints.
• Reviews estimates as requested and analyzes established standards for cost reductions.
• Reviews and analyzes existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials; identifies cost-reduction opportunities.
• Prepares reports forecasting production scenarios; makes recommendations based on findings.
• Provides training/guidance to less experienced Estimators
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
