Job summary

Young Brothers seeks an experienced insurance leader to develop and execute programs for inland and ocean marine risks, including hull, machinery, cargo, and workers' comp claims. The role collaborates with senior management to manage exposures and optimize cost-effective risk controls.

The incumbent will oversee claims packages, settlements, and regulatory reporting, lead negotiations with brokers, and guide outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years in insurance or related role.
• Experience with marine transportation claims rules, regulations, and processes.
• Property and Casualty Broker License, Associate in Risk Management and/or Associate in Marine Insurance management a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and report claims to insurers for hull & machinery, property, cargo, auto, workers' compensation, injury/illness, and other claims.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of claims packages to insurers and their timely settlement.
• Analyze recoverability and work with underwriters and adjusters to obtain proper insurance recoveries.
• Partner with brokers to ensure proper insurance policies and, if required, procure additional coverage to minimize premium cost.
• Lead outside attorneys in litigated/represented matters under GC direction.
• Represent Young Brothers in mediation and settlement conferences.
• Review insurance and claims provisions of contracts and CMS compliance.
