Job summary

Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Marine Mechanical Engineer to work in Ketchikan, AK. On-site owner representation at the Ketchikan shipyard, overseeing vessel repair and major modification periods to ensure all work aligns with contract specifications and regulatory mandates.

The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in shipboard mechanical systems and maritime quality assurance, with experience in ABS and USCG rules.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating shipboard mechanical systems.
• Direct knowledge of maritime piping, HVAC, refrigeration, and hydraulics.
• Ability to audit industrial work against contract specifications, ABS rules, technical drawings, and USCG regulations.
• Experience providing shipyard oversight.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in industrial settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to read and interpret vessel construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee modification, renewal, and repair of main and auxiliary shipboard systems.
• Attend tests, sea trials, and quality inspections to verify compliance with standards.
• Map end-user requirements to engineering methodologies and ensure criteria are met.
• Collaborate with on-site oversight personnel for systems integration.
• Ensure all modifications comply with project specs, ABS rules, and USCG standards.
• Develop and present technical materials and project briefings to stakeholders.
