Job summary

Hornblower Group seeks a Port Engineer to coordinate and supervise maintenance and repair functions for project vessels. You will manage preventive maintenance, capital planning and machinery history while supervising engineers and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or higher, a USCG C/E Unlimited HP license or equivalent, TWIC, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution preferred
  • U.S.C.G. license endorsed as C/E Unlimited Horsepower or equivalent
  • TWIC Card and/or ability to obtain and maintain
  • First Aid/CPR certification and/or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Driver’s License
  • Copy of DD214 if Veteran status
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Experience in passenger vessel industry with growing levels of responsibility

  • Oversee maintenance and repair functions for project vessels
  • Develop and monitor Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Manage budgets, cost control and capital planning
  • Develop vendor and contractor relationships
  • Supervise shipboard engineers and training
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and safety policies
  • Maintain vessel maintenance records and machinery history
  • Travel for meetings, conferences and support as requested
