One Federal Solution is seeking a Senior Marine Engineer to evaluate training courses for Coast Guard approval, applying engine room experience to standards mariners train to. You will assess curricula, sites, and instructors to ensure compliance with 46 CFR parts and NVIC guidance.

The role requires USCG credentials and five years sailing on those credentials. The company supports federal defense missions and seeks professionals who can coordinate reviews and draft formal approvals.

Formación

• Hold USCG Merchant Mariner Credential endorsed as Chief Engineer (Unlimited HP) or First Assistant Engineer (Unlimited HP) for Motor, Diesel, Steam or Gas Turbine propulsion.
• At least five years of sailing experience on that credential.
• A current STCW certificate is not required.
• U.S. citizenship preferred; non-U.S. citizens require a Government waiver to access DHS IT systems.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate training course requests for Coast Guard approval.
• Evaluate engine-related courses for conformance with CFR, NVICs, and best practice.
• Check learning objectives against regulations and ensure appropriate student-to-instructor ratios.
• Review examination policies and verify instructor qualifications.
• Draft approval letters and course certificates; route work through peer/review.
• Coordinate with the Deck and Engine SME team to achieve course approvals per month.
• Coordinate remote course folder movement with NMC staff when working remotely.
