Job summary

Chimera Enterprises International seeks an experienced Master Course Approval Subject Matter Expert (Top-Level Engine Mariner) to support the U.S. Coast Guard National Maritime Center.

You will evaluate training courses, training sites, and instructors for conformance with 46 CFR Parts 10, 11, and 12, NVIC 01-26, MSM Volume III, and international standards. The role requires security clearance eligibility, exceptional written communication, and independent work.

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of maritime engineering regulations, Coast Guard policies, and international merchant mariner standards.
• Exceptional written communication skills to draft official correspondence and detailed technical recommendations for government review.
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex engineering training materials and technical documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently while meeting stringent monthly production and quality metrics.
• (Preferred) Experience in writing, developing, or designing maritime training courses.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate maritime engineering training courses, sites, and instructors for regulatory conformance.
• Formulate recommendations for the Coast Guard and draft formal responses, incorporating updates from government reviews.
• Maintain a high volume of quality evaluations.
• Attend a two-week training at the National Maritime Center (NMC) located in Martinsburg, WV, and any additional on-site training requested by the government.
