Job summary

Trackline is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong marine background to lead electrical aspects of naval projects from concept through commissioning. You’ll guide design, construction, testing, and troubleshooting for commercial and government vessels and mentor junior engineers.

Focus areas include vessel electrification, hybrid propulsion, diesel-electric systems, automation, and regulatory compliance. This role can be based in Tampa, FL or Cleveland, OH.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with shipboard electrical systems and marine engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of power generation, distribution, and automation on vessels.
  • Familiarity with USCG, ABS, DNV, RINA, IEEE, IEC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering aspects of ship design, new construction, repair, and vessel conversion projects.
  • Design and specify shipboard electrical systems including power generation, distribution, lighting, automation, controls, and communication systems.
  • Manage technical scope, schedules, budgets, and resources for engineering projects.
  • Prepare and review drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Perform vessel electrical studies: load analysis, short-circuit analysis, cable routing, trip coordination.
