Job summary

Reliability & Performance Technologies (R&P) is seeking a junior Electrical Power and Propulsion engineer to join our defense-focused team. You will support design efforts for U.S. Navy surface combatants and provide engineering and technical support to the NSWC PD Advanced Power Systems Division in Philadelphia, with hybrid/remote work allowed during certain phases.

The role requires U.S. citizenship and a BS in Electrical or Marine Engineering, plus 2+ years in relevant fields.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and Secret DoD security clearance.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related Marine Engineering field.
  • 2+ years in electrical or marine engineering or ship design on Navy/Maritime programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and propulsion systems acumen to NSWC PD Advanced Power Systems Division.
  • Support the IPS concept of operations and define system lifecycle requirements.
  • Develop engineering solutions and address ship design inquiries.
  • Collaborate on-site with NSWC PD Advanced Power Systems Division.
  • Engage with NSWC PD clients and the overall design team.
  • Participate in IPS Working Group and other WGs.
  • Communicate complex marine engineering design architectures and decisions.
  • Perform systems engineering, trade space management, and configuration management of marine engineering datasets.
  • Provide cross-program support across IPTs.
  • Perform calculations and QA reviews of ship design artifacts.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to convey technical status.
  • Record action items and manage meeting invites.
