Job summary

Radar seeks a Maps Product Engineer to strengthen the data foundation behind its geocoding platform. You will own the data layer, ingesting diverse location data sources, and scaling the system to serve over 1 billion API calls daily.

The role spans ingestion to serving with AI enrichment opportunities, across Scala, Python, Rust, and Node.js environments. The position is based at Radar's NYC HQ, with a fast-paced, customer‑facing product culture and emphasis on shipping and cross-team

Qualifications

• Experience with geospatial data pipelines and data modeling.
• Proficient in Rust, Scala, and Python for data processing.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and high-throughput data workloads.
• Familiarity with Node.js/TypeScript for API layers.

Responsibilities

• Own the data foundation for the geocoder, across Scala, Python, and Rust.
• Build pipelines to integrate multiple data sources, expanding coverage and quality.
• Bring AI tools into the data layer for enrichment and labeling with guardrails.
• Work across the geocoding stack from serving path to API layer.
• Handle data at scale, powering over 1 billion API calls per day.
