Job summary

Entegris is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Technician to join our Pads Manufacturing Engineering team in Aurora, IL. This is an onsite 2nd shift role (2pm-10pm CST) with coverage across 24/5 and weekends as needed, focusing on advanced maintenance and process support for CMP pads manufacturing.

You will mentor less experienced technicians, lead root-cause investigations, and collaborate with Engineering to drive continuous improvement, safety, quality, and yield on the production floor.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating and maintaining mechanical manufacturing equipment.
• Advanced troubleshooting ability with CNC equipment, motors, pneumatics, and production machinery; ability to write and edit CNC programs (M & G codes).
• Ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and apply basic Six Sigma and DOE concepts.
• Strong knowledge of safe work practices and demonstrated ability to lead or support safety improvement initiatives.
• Excellent planning, organization, collaboration, and teamwork skills, with the ability to train and mentor less experienced Technicians.
• Associate degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in English; MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource on the shift, providing advanced troubleshooting and guidance to Operators and Supervisors, and escalating complex issues to Engineers.
• Ensure seamless operation of manufacturing machinery and equipment, including CNC machines, laminators, and presses, by diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Lead root cause investigations for equipment and process non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Operate and maintain pilot plant and production equipment; write CNC programs (M & G codes).
• Conduct visual inspections and material characterization and assist in product disposition decisions.
• Drive productivity and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, including 5S+S, safety, quality, yield, efficiency and cost.
• Support DOE trials, new product scale-ups, and equipment installations and qualifications with Process and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Provide comprehensive process and equipment training to Operators and less experienced Technicians.
• Interpret SPC data to support data-driven decision-making and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate material and inventory transactions (e.g., SAP) and uphold safe, clean, and organized work areas.
