Job summary

Entegris in Aurora, IL is seeking an Engineering Technician IV on the 2nd shift (2pm–10pm CST) to join the Pads Manufacturing Engineering team onsite. This role acts as the most experienced technical resource, providing advanced troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and process support for CMP Pads manufacturing operations.

You will partner with Engineering to drive continuous improvement, sustain product quality, mentor less experienced technicians, and lead root-cause investigations and DOE

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operating and maintaining mechanical manufacturing equipment.
• Advanced troubleshooting with CNC equipment and motors.
• Ability to interpret SPC charts; basic Six Sigma and DOE concepts.
• Strong safety practices and ability to lead safety initiatives.
• Proficiency in English, MS Office, and email.
• Flexible to support the second shift and occasional travel.

Job Title:Sr. Manufacturing Technician, Mon-Fri/2 pm to 10 pmJob Description:The Role:Entegris is currently seeking an Engineering Technician IV to join our Pads Manufacturing Engineering team in Aurora, IL. This position is onsite with primary responsibilities on the 2nd shift (2pm – 10pm CST) supporting a 24/5 and weekend operation. Flexible support on 1st and 3rd shift as required to provide adequate team coverage.In this role, you will serve as the most experienced technical resource on the shift, providing advanced troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and process support for Entegris' CMP Pads manufacturing operations. You will partner closely with Engineering to drive continuous improvement, sustain product quality, and mentor less experienced technicians.What You’ll Do:Serve as the primary technical resource on the shift, providing advanced troubleshooting and technical guidance to Operators and Supervisors, and escalating complex equipment or process issues to Engineers and/or Maintenance personal.Ensure seamless operation of manufacturing machinery and mechanical equipment, including CNC machines, laminators, and presses, by promptly diagnosing and resolving equipment and processing issues.Lead root cause investigations for equipment and process non-conformances, identifying and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.Operate and maintain pilot plant and production equipment, including CNC machines, laminators, ultrasonic welders, die presses, and other pad-manufacturing equipment; write and edit CNC programs (M & G codes).Conduct visual inspections and material characterization (durometer, surface roughness, thickness, density, compressibility) and assist in product disposition decisions.Drive productivity and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, yield, efficiency, and cost, and lead implementation of approved improvements including 5S+S.Support Design of Experiment (DOE) trials, new product scale-ups, and equipment installations and qualifications in partnership with Process and Manufacturing Engineering.Provide comprehensive process and equipment training to Operators and less experienced Technicians in formal and informal settings, serving as a subject matter expert and mentor.Interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and apply Six Sigma and Design of Experiment (DOE) tools to support data-driven decision-making and process improvements.Maintain accurate material and inventory transactions (e.g., SAP) and uphold safe, clean, and organized work areas in support of facility-wide safety initiatives.What We Seek:5+ years of experience operating and maintaining mechanical manufacturing equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting ability with CNC equipment, motors, pneumatics, and production machinery; ability to write and edit CNC programs (M & G codes).Ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and apply basic Six Sigma and DOE concepts.Strong knowledge of safe work practices and demonstrated ability to lead or support safety improvement initiatives.Excellent planning, organization, collaboration, and teamwork skills, with the ability to train and mentor less experienced Technicians.Associate degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.Effective oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email required.Flexibility to support the second-shift schedule, occasional on-call availability, and occasional travel within the US.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab and/or JMP.Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.Familiarity with PLC programming and equipment utilizing computerized user interfaces.Experience in plastics processing, machining, roll lamination, or CMP polishing pad manufacturing.Knowledge of SAP and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) preferred.Why Work at Entegris:Lead.
