Job summary

GE Appliances in Decatur, AL is seeking a Senior Manager of Manufacturing Quality Engineering to lead quality improvements across the plant. You will own measurement systems, drive MTM/MCIs, and coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve defects and elevate product quality.

The role focuses on leading quality initiatives, applying lean principles, and guiding engineering with PFMEA/FMEA linkage to MCPs while advancing new product introductions with robust QA processes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in a high volume, operations environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with customers and operations.
• Ability to analyze quality data, interpret and act upon information.
• Strong project management skills – scoping, planning and execution.
• Strong cross functional communication.
• Familiar with gauging and other measurement tools.
• Ability to interpret part prints and specifications.
• Experience with CMM, 3D scanning, Handheld Measurement Gages.
• Working Knowledge of AUTOCAD or similar.
• 7+ years of experience with manufacturing quality/NPI quality projects and process improvement.
• Knowledge of PFMEA / FMEA and linkage to MCPs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Computer literate and skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, Outlook, MS Copilot, and other AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with factory operations to improve product quality using root-cause analysis.
• Utilize Lean manufacturing concepts to validate processes.
• Coordinate resources across quality, manufacturing, design, SQE & technology teams.
• Facilitate MCP process and publish MCP documents.
• Create and maintain MCIs and quality alerts.
• Coordinate repair procedures training for operators.
• Promote APS philosophy and drive continuous quality improvement.
• Assist AQE in selecting CTQs and measurement methods.
• Work with BQL to determine projects and quarterly goals to improve yield and COQ.
• Provide guidance to New Product Introduction teams on process capabilities.
• Evaluate testing technologies for new products.
