Qualifications

• 5+ years of people management experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Background in embedded systems strongly preferred.
• Experience with a contract engineering and design company that develops and manufactures products for other companies (think Garmin or similar).
• Mid career professional; not someone with 20 years managing people or 20 years running projects.
• Comfortable operating in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Project Managers, overseeing their day to day work and development
• Own the who and the how: hire, coach, and mentor your team to build strong performers
• Keep projects on track from concept through volume manufacturing
• Work cross functionally with embedded systems and functional managers to drive execution
• Stay hands on as a working manager, managing projects directly alongside your team, not just from a distance
• Bring structure and process improvements to a company that moves fast and handles multiple product lines at once
