Job summary

Joseph Gallo Farms in Atwater, CA is seeking a hands-on Sr. Project Engineer to lead capital improvement projects across our manufacturing site.

You will partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and external vendors to deliver work safely, on time, and within budget. The role requires 5+ years in plant equipment engineering, a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, proficiency with CAD and MS Office, and strong communication with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in plant equipment or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with CAD and MS Office.
• Knowledge of the engineering project lifecycle.
• Ability to communicate with management and shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from ideation through design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and final closeout.
• Develop & manage project charters, scope, ROI & cost savings, and detailed budgets.
• Create & maintain project schedules (Gantt), resource plans, and milestones.
• Develop equipment layouts, utility requirements, and process flow diagrams (PFDs and P&IDs).
• Develop equipment specs and RFQs; evaluate proposals and select vendors.
• Lead design reviews and ensure alignment with plant standards.
• Coordinate FAT/SAT, startup planning, and commissioning handoff to operations.
