PL Developments is seeking an Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead capital projects for production equipment and plant utilities at our California site. You will manage design, cost analyses, vendor interactions, and qualification of manufacturing facilities and equipment.

The role requires guiding a 25–35 person maintenance team, ensuring on-time, cost-effective project delivery while adhering to cGMPs, OSHA, FDA, and EPA standards, and supporting validation and testing during

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering and maintenance leadership.
• Experience with equipment used in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing for liquids and consumer healthcare goods.
• Experience with electricity, pipe fitting, electrical and general maintenance.
• Familiar with cGMPs, OSHA, FDA and EPA standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar design programs.
• Six Sigma certification a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions and schedule changes.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage capital projects for production equipment and plant utility systems.
• Perform design and cost analyses of new and used production equipment.
• Produce, review and revise design drawings, including equipment layout drawings, and P&IDs including line sizing, instrumentation and control philosophies.
• Assist in the design, construction and qualification of the manufacturing facility and the equipment used to produce commercial products.
• Work with Operations, Quality and Validation to identify and select equipment and service vendors; review vendor information and submittal packages.
• Ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner aligned with standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Responsible for facilities and maintenance engineering for the FDA-regulated facility and the office/distribution center.
• Review and analyze production equipment systems; describe and evaluate systems and costs/benefits of improvements.
• Support test runs, validation runs and other requirements during manufacturing hours and be available on call after hours.
• Provide engineering support for validation of utilities such as RO/DI water, HVAC, gases, and equipment.
• Provide direction to project and maintenance staff (25–35 people).
• Drive continuous improvement by implementing projects that optimize production processes and realize cost savings.
